Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll Is Obsessed With Chewing Gum! What’s It About?
Pete Carroll, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, is the oldest head coach in the league right now, yet he has a reputation for possessing a certain amount of persistent young vitality.
Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll Is Obsessed With Chewing Gum! What’s It About?
Not many of the NFL’s current head coaches can equal the 70-year-old’s unceasing zest for jogging up and down the sidelines.
However, he is also shown chewing on what must be the tastiest piece of gum ever to grace a human’s palate almost every time the camera pans to him.

Pete Carroll’s favorite gum, reportedly, is Bubble Yum. Carroll like the original Bubble Yum flavor so much that he may consume up to three packs of gum on game days.
Carroll’s fondness for gum is widely known; ESPN previously revealed that Seahawks director of equipment Erik Kennedy, along with his son Carson, frequently replenish Carroll’s gum supply.
Carroll like the traditional Bubble Yum flavor and can consume up to three packs of gum on game days. This translates to around 15 gum pieces every game and about 260 gum pieces throughout a season.

According to ESPN, Carson Kennedy, the son of Seahawks director of equipment Erik Kennedy, and Carroll himself fill Carroll’s gum stockpile. Carson estimates that the 15 pieces of gum may be quite low, estimating that almost half of a gameday stockpile, or 270 pieces in all, may go missing.
The 71-year-old’s obsession with chewing gum has grown to be a source of contention for supporters. Carroll claims that’s his “only habit,” which has left him somewhat perplexed.

I am asked about it all the time. It’s one of the most ridiculous questions; I fail to see why it would ever concern anyone. In an interview with ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he once said, “I have no idea why you’re even doing this piece.”
Carroll’s behavior is amusing, but it can also be messy at times. He acknowledges that despite his best efforts, his gum doesn’t always wind up in the garbage. He has been seen furiously tossing it on the sidelines several times by the cameras.
“I don’t always hit the garbage cans, so sometimes they wind up on the ground somewhere.”

I want to see the seahawks lose for a lot of reasons but mostly because i don’t want to see Pete Carroll chewing gum on tv ever again. pic.twitter.com/XF3d5VfTxC
